Hydrological modeling and flood prediction
Hydrological modeling is the science of simulating how rain becomes runoff, runoff becomes river flow, and river flow becomes flood. We tour the building blocks: rainfall-runoff models like SCS-CN, routing methods like Muskingum, distributed hydrological platforms (HEC-HMS, MIKE SHE), and the ensemble forecasting that powers operational flood-warning systems.
