Cookie Policy
Last updated: February 15, 2026
In compliance with European Directive 2002/58/EC (ePrivacy) and Article 22.2 of Spanish Law 34/2002 on Information Society Services and Electronic Commerce (LSSI-CE), we inform you about the use of cookies and local storage technologies on the HidroAlerta24 website.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that websites store in the user's browser when visited. They allow the site to remember information about the visit, such as language preferences, display settings, or other data, making the next visit easier and the site more useful.
In addition to traditional cookies, modern websites also use localStorage, a browser technology that allows data to be stored locally without sending it to the server with each request.
2. Cookies we use
HidroAlerta24 uses exclusively technical and preference cookies. We do not use analytics, advertising, or third-party tracking cookies.

3. Third-party cookies
HidroAlerta24 loads external resources required for the operation of the interactive map and data visualization:
- Leaflet (map tiles): The interactive map loads tile images from CartoDB and other map providers' servers. These servers may set technical cookies needed for content delivery.
- Script CDN: JavaScript libraries are loaded from
unpkg.comandcdn.jsdelivr.netfor the application to work. These CDN servers may record technical access data.
No analytics cookies (Google Analytics or similar), advertising cookies, or tracking cookies of any kind are used.
4. Use of localStorage
HidroAlerta24 uses the browser's localStorage technology to store user preferences locally. Unlike traditional cookies:
- Data stored in localStorage is not automatically sent to the server with each HTTP request.
- It remains stored in the user's browser until manually deleted or the site's data is cleared.
- It is only accessible from the HidroAlerta24 site itself.
- It is used only to remember user display and configuration preferences.
5. How to manage and disable cookies
You can configure your browser to accept, reject, or delete cookies. Below are instructions for the most widely used browsers:
- Google Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data. You can also access this directly by typing
chrome://settings/cookiesin the address bar. - Mozilla Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data. You can manage exceptions and remove data from specific sites.
- Microsoft Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies and site data.
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data. Allows blocking cookies and removing stored data.
To delete localStorage data, you can:
- Open the browser's developer tools (usually with the F12 key).
- Navigate to the "Application" tab (Chrome/Edge) or "Storage" (Firefox).
- Select "Local Storage" and remove the HidroAlerta24 entries.
Note: Disabling cookies or deleting localStorage data may affect the proper operation of some site features, such as remembering user preferences.
6. Updates to this policy
HidroAlerta24 reserves the right to modify this Cookie Policy to adapt it to regulatory or technological changes, or to changes in site features. Any modification will be published on this page with the corresponding update date.
